The group that has the deepest roots in the bank’s cultural scene is the chorale, now known as the Bangko Sentral Singers. Its founder, the then Special Assistant to the Governor, MERCEDES PAREDES who continued to perform with the group even in the remaining days of her stay in the Bank.
The original CB Chorale was formed in the sixties and enjoyed the patronage of management and dedication of its members. To give them musical direction, the bank hired distinguished conductors, among them, National Artist Lucio San Pedro, composer Professor Restie Umali (who was the composer of the Himno Bangko Sentral), Andrea Veneracion, Joel Navarro and Dr. Raul C. Navarro.
To prove that they are worth the support of the management, the Bangko Sentral Singers stood as the grand slam winner in the Choral Competion for the period 1986 to 1989 beating the Philippine National Bank, Development Bank of the Philippines and the Land Bank of the Philippines.

BS Singers Entertained the 2009 BSP Employees Retirees
The Bangko Sentral Singers were invited to sing at the Recognition Day of the 2009 BSP Retired Employees at the Assembly Hall, 3/F Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas last 9 December 2009.
We started the program by singing the Invocation Song, "Ama Namin" arranged by Ryan Cayabyab, and followed by the Philippine National Anthem. After few numbers, we were called again on stage and we sang two songs entitled "Go the Distance" and "Kahapon, Bukas, Ngayon". As I glanced at the teary-eyed audience, I felt the sadness in their hearts. As if they were reminiscing their precious and happy moments when they were still here in BSP. But then though they were no longer in the bank, they will always remain in our hearts....forever!
God bless all of you! May you continue to enjoy life after BSP.
